
Columbus, Ohio Aug 14, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - Ohio native, Brittany McVicker, has joined the cast of Dogwood, starring opposite Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts. The film, directed by Dianna Renee, recently wrapped production in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Set in the late 1800s, Dogwood is a tale of survival, revenge, and the enduring strength of a mother's love. McVicker plays Randi, a saloon girl and the primary companion of Daniel Manlius (Eric Roberts), the main antagonista vile, ruthless, and powerful plantation owner in Kentucky. As the story unfolds, Randi's true depth and complexity come to light, revealing much more than meets the eye.
McVicker is known for her roles in several Lifetime films as well as shows on AMC+, Peacock, and Hulu, including Santa Games.
The film also stars Ruby Garnet (writer, and executive producer), Amy Zubieta (writer, and producer), and La Veda Davis.
Dogwood is produced in partnership with DF21C Productions and DarkParkStudios, with Travis Mills as executive producer, and is associated with 12 Westerns.
The film is slated for release in 2025.
