Washington, D.C, District of Columbia Nov 4, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - The Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) today announced the recipients of its Annual Leadership Awards. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that are committed to the highest standards of achievement and service to both the legal professional and Washington metropolitan community.
The BADC is privileged and humbled to be able to honor such a stellar group of honorees as part of our celebration, said Rawle Andrews Jr., Esq., BADC president. These awardees are being recognized for their strong legal acumen, high integrity, and a fervent desire to help their clients and their communities meet the moment during peacetime and pandemic. We are grateful to them for their contributions to the legal profession, their respective organizations, and the community at-large, Andrews added.
The 2024 awardees will be recognized during the upcoming BADC Annual Awards Banquet and Gala on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Capital Hilton (DC):
- Hon. James E. Boasberg, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Judicial Honoree
- Shirley Ann Higuchi, Esq., American Psychological Association, Lawyer of the Year
- Sanchita R. Bose, Esq., Hogan Lovells, Esq., Young Lawyer of the Year
- Elaine R. Jones, Esq., President & Director-Counsel Emerita, Hon. Annice Wagner Pioneer Award
In addition to the foregoing awards, the BADC will recognize the following individuals and organizations during the 153rd Annual Banquet:
The late David F. Grimaldi, Esq., Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award (posthumously); and the Capital Area Food Bank. The BADC Foundation will recognize the Neighborhood Legal Service Program (NLSP) as the 2024 Suzanne V. Richards Grantee.
